— A. Maududi (English Tafhim commentary)

Hargiz nahin, jab jaan halaq tak pahunch jayegi

and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?”

— A. Maududi (English Tafhim commentary)

Aur kaha jayega ke hai koi jhaad phook karne wala

— Abul Ala Maududi (Roman Urdu)

and he realises that the hour of parting is come,

— A. Maududi (English Tafhim commentary)

Aur aadmi samajh lega ke yeh duniya se judai ka waqt hai

On that Day you will be driven to your Lord.

— A. Maududi (English Tafhim commentary)

Magar usne na sach mana , aur na namaz padhi

on the contrary, he gave the lie to the Truth and turned his back upon it,

— A. Maududi (English Tafhim commentary)

Balke jhutlaya aur palat gaya

then he went back to his kinsfolk, elated with pride.

— A. Maududi (English Tafhim commentary)

Phir akadta hua apne ghar walon ki taraf chal diya

This (attitude) is worthy of you, altogether worthy;

— A. Maududi (English Tafhim commentary)

Yeh rawish tere hi liye sazawaar hai aur tujh hi ko zeib deti hai

— Abul Ala Maududi (Roman Urdu)

Haan yeh rawish tere hi liye sazawaar hai aur tujh hi ko zeib deti hai
