وَيۡلٌ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِيۡنَۙ‏ ١

Woe to the stinters;

83:2

الَّذِيۡنَ اِذَا اكۡتَالُوۡا عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُوۡنَۖ‏ ٢

those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share;

Jinka haal yeh hai ke jab logon se letey hai to pura pura letey hai

83:3

وَاِذَا كَالُوۡهُمۡ اَوْ وَّزَنُوۡهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُوۡنَؕ‏ ٣

but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due.

Aur jab unko naap kar ya toal kar dete hai to unhein ghata dete hai

83:4

اَلَا يَظُنُّ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ اَنَّهُمۡ مَّبۡعُوۡثُوۡنَۙ‏ ٤

Do they not realise that they will be raised to life

83:5

لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيۡمٍۙ‏ ٥

on a Great Day,

83:6

يَّوۡمَ يَقُوۡمُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَؕ‏ ٦

a Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe?

83:7

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّ كِتٰبَ الۡفُجَّارِ لَفِىۡ سِجِّيۡنٍؕ‏ ٧

No indeed! Verily the deeds of the wicked are in the Record locked up in the prison-house!

83:8

وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا سِجِّيۡنٌؕ‏ ٨

And how would you know what the Record of the prison-house is?

83:9

كِتٰبٌ مَّرۡقُوۡمٌؕ‏ ٩

It is a Book inscribed.

83:10

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَۙ‏ ١٠

Woe, then, to those that give the lie,

83:11

الَّذِيۡنَ يُكَذِّبُوۡنَ بِيَوۡمِ الدِّيۡنِؕ‏ ١١

those that give the lie to the Day of Recompense.

Jo roz-e-jaza ko jhutlatay hain

83:12

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهٖۤ اِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ اَثِيۡمٍۙ‏ ١٢

Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin;

83:13

اِذَا تُتۡلٰى عَلَيۡهِ اٰيٰتُنَا قَالَ اَسَاطِيۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَؕ‏ ١٣

who, when Our verses are recited to him, says: “Mere tales of olden times!”

Usey jab hamari ayaat sunayi jaati hain to kehta hai yeh to agley waqton ki kahaniyan hai

83:14

كَلَّا بَلۡ رَانَ عَلٰى قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ‏ ١٤

No indeed! The truth is that their hearts have become rusted on account of their evil deeds.

Hargiz nahin, balke darasal in logon ke dilon par inke burey aamal ka zang(rust) chadh gaya hai

83:15

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّهُمۡ عَنۡ رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لَّمَحۡجُوۡبُوۡنَؕ‏ ١٥

No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord,

Hargiz nahin bil yaqeen us roz yeh apne Rubb ki deed(deedar) se mehroom rakhey jayenge

83:16

ثُمَّ اِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُوا الۡجَحِيۡمِؕ‏ ١٦

and then they shall enter Hell,

Phir yeh jahannum mein jaa padenge

83:17

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هٰذَا الَّذِىۡ كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ١٧

whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.”

Phir insey kaha jayega ke yeh wahi cheez hai jisey tum jhutlaya karte thay

83:18

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّ كِتٰبَ الۡاَبۡرَارِ لَفِىۡ عِلِّيِّيۡنَؕ‏ ١٨

No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones.

وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا عِلِّيُّوۡنَؕ‏ ١٩

And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is?

83:20

كِتٰبٌ مَّرۡقُوۡمٌۙ‏ ٢٠

It is a Book inscribed,

83:21

يَّشۡهَدُهُ الۡمُقَرَّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ٢١

which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard.

Jiski nigeh-daasht muqarrab farishtay karte hain

83:22

اِنَّ الۡاَبۡرَارَ لَفِىۡ نَعِيۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٢

Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss;

Beshak neik log badey mazey mein hongey

83:23

عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَۙ‏ ٢٣

resting on couches, looking around.

Unchi masnadon(couches) par baithay nazarey kar rahey hongey

83:24

تَعۡرِفُ فِىۡ وُجُوۡهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ النَّعِيۡمِۚ‏ ٢٤

You shall see upon their faces the glow of bliss.

Unke chehron par tum khushhaali ki raunak mehsoos karogey

83:25

يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِنۡ رَّحِيۡقٍ مَّخۡتُوۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٥

They will be served a drink of the finest sealed wine,

Unko nafees tareen sarband sharaab pilayi jayegi jispar mushk ki mohar(seal) lagi hogi

83:26

خِتٰمُهٗ مِسۡكٌ ؕ وَفِىۡ ذٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ الۡمُتَنــَافِسُوۡنَؕ‏ ٢٦

whose seal is musk – so let all aspirants aspire after that –

Jo log dusron par baazi le jana chahtey hon woh is cheez ko haasil karne mei baazi le jane ki koshish karein

83:27

وَ مِزَاجُهٗ مِنۡ تَسۡنِيۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٧

a wine whose mixture is Tasnim,

Us sharaab mei tasneem ki aamezish(mixture) hogi

83:28

عَيۡنًا يَّشۡرَبُ بِهَا الۡمُقَرَّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ٢٨

a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink.

83:29

اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اَجۡرَمُوۡا كَانُوۡا مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا يَضۡحَكُوۡنَ ۖ‏ ٢٩

Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers:

Mujrim log duniya mein imaan laane walon ka mazaak udate thay

83:30

وَاِذَا مَرُّوۡا بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُوۡنَ ۖ‏ ٣٠

when they passed by them they winked,

Jab unke paas se guzarte to aankhein maar maar kar unki taraf isharey karte thay

83:31

وَاِذَا انۡقَلَبُوۡۤا اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوۡا فَكِهِيۡنَ ۖ‏ ٣١

and when they went back to their families, they went back jesting,

Apne gharon ki taraf palat-tey to mazey letey huey palat-tey thay

83:32

وَاِذَا رَاَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ لَـضَآلُّوۡنَۙ‏ ٣٢

and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”;

Aur jab unhein dekhte to kehte thay ke yeh behke huey log hain

83:33

وَمَاۤ اُرۡسِلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حٰفِظِيۡنَۙ‏ ٣٣

(they said so although) they had not been appointed watchers over them.

Halaanke woh un par nigran banakar nahin bhejey gaye thay

83:34

فَالۡيَوۡمَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنَ الۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُوۡنَۙ‏ ٣٤

But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers;

Aaj imaan laane waley kuffar par hans rahay hai

83:35

عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِۙ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَؕ‏ ٣٥

seated upon their couches, they are looking around.

83:36

هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ الۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ‏ ٣٦

Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds?

Mil gaya na kafiron ko un harkaton ka sawab jo woh kiya karte thay

وَيۡلٌ لِّلۡمُطَفِّفِيۡنَۙ‏ ١

وَاِذَا كَالُوۡهُمۡ اَوْ وَّزَنُوۡهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُوۡنَؕ‏ ٣

اَلَا يَظُنُّ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ اَنَّهُمۡ مَّبۡعُوۡثُوۡنَۙ‏ ٤

لِيَوۡمٍ عَظِيۡمٍۙ‏ ٥

يَّوۡمَ يَقُوۡمُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَؕ‏ ٦

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّ كِتٰبَ الۡفُجَّارِ لَفِىۡ سِجِّيۡنٍؕ‏ ٧

وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا سِجِّيۡنٌؕ‏ ٨

كِتٰبٌ مَّرۡقُوۡمٌؕ‏ ٩

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَۙ‏ ١٠

الَّذِيۡنَ يُكَذِّبُوۡنَ بِيَوۡمِ الدِّيۡنِؕ‏ ١١

وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهٖۤ اِلَّا كُلُّ مُعۡتَدٍ اَثِيۡمٍۙ‏ ١٢

اِذَا تُتۡلٰى عَلَيۡهِ اٰيٰتُنَا قَالَ اَسَاطِيۡرُ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَؕ‏ ١٣

كَلَّا​ بَلۡ رَانَ عَلٰى قُلُوۡبِهِمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ‏ ١٤

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّهُمۡ عَنۡ رَّبِّهِمۡ يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لَّمَحۡجُوۡبُوۡنَ​ؕ‏ ١٥

ثُمَّ اِنَّهُمۡ لَصَالُوا الۡجَحِيۡمِؕ‏ ١٦

ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هٰذَا الَّذِىۡ كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ١٧

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّ كِتٰبَ الۡاَبۡرَارِ لَفِىۡ عِلِّيِّيۡنَؕ‏ ١٨

وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا عِلِّيُّوۡنَؕ‏ ١٩

كِتٰبٌ مَّرۡقُوۡمٌۙ‏ ٢٠

يَّشۡهَدُهُ الۡمُقَرَّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ٢١

اِنَّ الۡاَبۡرَارَ لَفِىۡ نَعِيۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٢

عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَۙ‏ ٢٣

تَعۡرِفُ فِىۡ وُجُوۡهِهِمۡ نَضۡرَةَ النَّعِيۡمِ​ۚ‏ ٢٤

يُسۡقَوۡنَ مِنۡ رَّحِيۡقٍ مَّخۡتُوۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٥

خِتٰمُهٗ مِسۡكٌ ​ؕ وَفِىۡ ذٰلِكَ فَلۡيَتَنَافَسِ الۡمُتَنــَافِسُوۡنَؕ‏ ٢٦

وَ مِزَاجُهٗ مِنۡ تَسۡنِيۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٧

عَيۡنًا يَّشۡرَبُ بِهَا الۡمُقَرَّبُوۡنَؕ‏ ٢٨

اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اَجۡرَمُوۡا كَانُوۡا مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا يَضۡحَكُوۡنَ ۖ‏ ٢٩

وَاِذَا مَرُّوۡا بِهِمۡ يَتَغَامَزُوۡنَ ۖ‏ ٣٠

وَاِذَا انۡقَلَبُوۡۤا اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهِمُ انْقَلَبُوۡا فَكِهِيۡنَ ۖ‏ ٣١

وَاِذَا رَاَوۡهُمۡ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ لَـضَآلُّوۡنَۙ‏ ٣٢

وَمَاۤ اُرۡسِلُوۡا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حٰفِظِيۡنَۙ‏ ٣٣

فَالۡيَوۡمَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مِنَ الۡكُفَّارِ يَضۡحَكُوۡنَۙ‏ ٣٤

عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِۙ يَنۡظُرُوۡنَؕ‏ ٣٥

هَلۡ ثُوِّبَ الۡكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوۡا يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ‏ ٣٦
