088 surah

هَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ حَدِيۡثُ الۡغَاشِيَةِؕ‏ ١

Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you?

88:2

وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ ۙ‏ ٢

Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear,

88:3

عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ ۙ‏ ٣

be toiling and worn-out;

88:4

تَصۡلٰى نَارًا حَامِيَةً ۙ‏ ٤

they shall burn in a Scorching Fire;

88:5

تُسۡقٰى مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ اٰنِيَةٍؕ‏ ٥

their drink shall be from a boiling spring.

88:6

لَـيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنۡ ضَرِيۡعٍۙ‏ ٦

They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns

لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِىۡ مِنۡ جُوۡعٍؕ‏ ٧

that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger.

Jo na mota karey na bhook mitaye

وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ ۙ‏ ٨

On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy,

لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ ۙ‏ ٩

well-pleased with their striving.

فِىۡ جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۙ‏ ١٠

They will be in a lofty Garden

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيۡهَا لَاغِيَةً ؕ‏ ١١

wherein they shall hear no vain talk.

88:12

فِيۡهَا عَيۡنٌ جَارِيَةٌ ۘ‏ ١٢

In it there shall be a flowing spring,

فِيۡهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرۡفُوۡعَةٌ ۙ‏ ١٣

and couches raised high,

88:14

وَّاَكۡوَابٌ مَّوۡضُوۡعَةٌ ۙ‏ ١٤

and goblets laid out,

وَّنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوۡفَةٌ ۙ‏ ١٥

and cushions arrayed in rows,

88:16

وَّزَرَابِىُّ مَبۡثُوۡثَةٌ ؕ‏ ١٦

and rich carpets levelled out.

88:17

اَفَلَا يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ اِلَى الۡاِ بِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ‏ ١٧

Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created?

And the sky: how it was raised high?

وَاِلَى الۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ‏ ١٩

And the mountains: how they were fixed?

88:20

وَاِلَى الۡاَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ‏ ٢٠

And the earth: how it was spread out?

88:21

فَذَكِّرۡ ؕ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنۡتَ مُذَكِّرٌ ؕ‏ ٢١

So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel,

Acha to ( aey nabi) nasihat kiye jao, tum bas nasihat hi karne wale ho

لَـسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِمُصَۜيۡطِرٍۙ‏ ٢٢

and are not invested with the authority to compel them.

88:23

اِلَّا مَنۡ تَوَلّٰى وَكَفَرَۙ‏ ٢٣

But whoever will turn away (from the Truth),

Albatta jo shaks mooh modega aur inkar karega

88:24

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللّٰهُ الۡعَذَابَ الۡاَكۡبَرَؕ‏ ٢٤

Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement.

88:25

اِنَّ اِلَيۡنَاۤ اِيَابَهُمۡۙ‏ ٢٥

Surely to Us is their return;

88:26

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُمْ‏ ٢٦

and then it is for Us to call them to account.

Phir inka hisab lena hamare hi zimmey hai

لَـيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنۡ ضَرِيۡعٍۙ‏ ٦

لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِىۡ مِنۡ جُوۡعٍؕ‏ ٧

وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ ۙ‏ ٨

لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ ۙ‏ ٩

فِىۡ جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۙ‏ ١٠

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيۡهَا لَاغِيَةً ؕ‏ ١١

فِيۡهَا عَيۡنٌ جَارِيَةٌ​ ۘ‏ ١٢

فِيۡهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرۡفُوۡعَةٌ ۙ‏ ١٣

وَّاَكۡوَابٌ مَّوۡضُوۡعَةٌ ۙ‏ ١٤

وَّنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوۡفَةٌ ۙ‏ ١٥

وَّزَرَابِىُّ مَبۡثُوۡثَةٌ ؕ‏ ١٦

اَفَلَا يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ اِلَى الۡاِ بِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ‏ ١٧

وَاِلَى السَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ‏ ١٨

وَاِلَى الۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ‏ ١٩

وَاِلَى الۡاَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ‏ ٢٠

فَذَكِّرۡ ؕ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنۡتَ مُذَكِّرٌ ؕ‏ ٢١

لَـسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِمُصَۜيۡطِرٍۙ‏ ٢٢

اِلَّا مَنۡ تَوَلّٰى وَكَفَرَۙ‏ ٢٣

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللّٰهُ الۡعَذَابَ الۡاَكۡبَرَؕ‏ ٢٤

اِنَّ اِلَيۡنَاۤ اِيَابَهُمۡۙ‏ ٢٥

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُمْ‏ ٢٦
