Surah 96

096 surah

اِقۡرَاۡ بِاسۡمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَ​ۚ‏ ١

Recite in the name of your Lord Who created,

Padho (Aey Nabi) apne Rubb ke naam ke saath Jisne paida kiya

خَلَقَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ عَلَقٍ​ۚ‏ ٢

created man from a clot of congealed blood.

Jamey huey khoon ke ek lothdey se Insan ki takhliq ki

اِقۡرَاۡ وَرَبُّكَ الۡاَكۡرَمُۙ‏ ٣

Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous,

Padho aur tumhara Rubb bada kareem hai

الَّذِىۡ عَلَّمَ بِالۡقَلَمِۙ‏ ٤

Who taught by the pen,

jisne qalam ke zariya se ilm sikhaya

عَلَّمَ الۡاِنۡسَانَ مَا لَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡؕ‏ ٥

taught man what he did not know.

Insan ko woh ilm diya jisey woh na jaanta tha

كَلَّاۤ اِنَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ لَيَطۡغٰٓىۙ‏ ٦

Nay, surely man transgresses;

Hargiz nahin, Insan sarkahshi karta hai

اَنۡ رَّاٰهُ اسۡتَغۡنٰىؕ‏ ٧

for he believes himself to be self-sufficient.

Is bina par ke woh apne aap ko be niyaz dekhta hai

اِنَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ الرُّجۡعٰىؕ‏ ٨

Surely to your Lord is your return.

(halaanke) palatna yaqeenan tere Rubb hi ki taraf hai

اَرَءَيۡتَ الَّذِىۡ يَنۡهٰىؕ‏ ٩

Did you see him who forbids

Tumne dekha us shaks ko

عَبۡدًا اِذَا صَلّٰىؕ‏ ١٠

a servant (of Allah) when he prays?

Jo ek banday ko mana karta hai jabke woh namaz padta ho

اَرَءَيۡتَ اِنۡ كَانَ عَلَى الۡهُدٰٓىۙ‏ ١١

Did you consider: what if he is on the Right Way,

Tumhara kya khayal hai agar (woh banda) raah e raast par ho

اَوۡ اَمَرَ بِالتَّقۡوٰىۙ‏ ١٢

and enjoins piety?

ya parhezgari ki talqeen karta ho

اَرَءَيۡتَ اِنۡ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰىؕ‏ ١٣

Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)?

Tumhara kya khayal hai agar (yeh mana karne wala shakhs haqq ko) jhutlata aur mooh moadta ho

اَلَمۡ يَعۡلَمۡ بِاَنَّ اللّٰهَ يَرٰىؕ‏ ١٤

Does he not know that Allah sees everything?

Kya woh nahin jaanta ke Allah dekh raha hai

كَلَّا لَٮِٕنۡ لَّمۡ يَنۡتَهِ  ۙ لَنَسۡفَعًۢا بِالنَّاصِيَةِۙ‏ ١٥

No indeed; if he does not desist, We shall drag him by the forelock;

Hargiz nahin agar woh baaz na aaya to hum uski peshani ke baal pakad kar usey khinchey ge

نَاصِيَةٍ كَاذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةٍ​ ۚ‏ ١٦

by the lying forelock steeped in sin.

Us peshani ko jo jhooti aur sakth khatakaar hai

فَلۡيَدۡعُ نَادِيَهٗ ۙ‏ ١٧

So let him summon his helpmates;

Woh bulaley apne haamiyon ki toli ko

سَنَدۡعُ الزَّبَانِيَةَ ۙ‏ ١٨

We too shall summon the guards of Hell.

Hum bhi azaab ke farishton ko bula lengey

كَلَّا ؕ لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَاسۡجُدۡ وَاقۡتَرِبْ۩‏ ١٩

No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord).

Hargiz nahin, uski baat na mano aur sajda karo aur (apne Rubb ka) qurb hasil karo
