Test or Trial ( آزمائش یا امتحان )

Does the purpose of putting us to trial or test is to assess our faith and to bring us to following Allah’s instructions?

کیا اللہ ہماری آزمائش یا امتحان اس لئیے لیتے ہیں کے ہمارے ایمان کو جانچ لیں اور ہمیں اللہ کے احکامات پر عمل کرنے کی جانب لے آئیں؟

Surah Al-A'raf: 7 - Ayah: 168
Arabic
وَقَطَّعۡنٰهُمۡ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ اُمَمًا​ ۚ مِنۡهُمُ الصّٰلِحُوۡنَ وَمِنۡهُمۡ دُوۡنَ ذٰ لِكَ​ وَبَلَوۡنٰهُمۡ بِالۡحَسَنٰتِ وَالسَّيِّاٰتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُوۡنَ‏ 
English
And We dispersed them through the earth in communities - some were righteous, others were not -and We tested them with prosperity and adversity that they may turn back (to righteousness).
Urdu
Humne unko zameen mein tukde tukde karke bahut se qaumon mein taqseem kardiya, kuch log inmein neik thay aur kuch issey mukhtalif aur hum unko acchey aur burey halaat se aazmaish mein mubtila karte rahey ke shayad yeh palat aayein
Surah At-Tawbah: 9 - Ayah: 126
Arabic
اَوَلَا يَرَوۡنَ اَنَّهُمۡ يُفۡتَـنُوۡنَ فِىۡ كُلِّ عَامٍ مَّرَّةً اَوۡ مَرَّتَيۡنِ ثُمَّ لَا يَتُوۡبُوۡنَ وَلَا هُمۡ يَذَّكَّرُوۡنَ‏
English
[9:126] Do they not see that they are tried every year once or twice? Yet they neither repent nor take heed.
Urdu
Kya yeh log dekhte nahin ke har saal do martaba yeh aazmaish mein daley jatey hain? Magar ispar bhi na tawba karte hain na koi sabaq (lesson) letey hain
Surah Al-'Ankabut: 29 - Ayah: 3
Arabic
وَلَقَدۡ فَتَـنَّا الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ​ فَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ صَدَقُوۡا وَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ الۡكٰذِبِيۡنَ‏
English
for We indeed tested those who went before them? Allah will most certainly ascertain those who spoke the truth and those who lied.
Urdu
Halaanke hum un sab logon ki aazmaish kar chuke hain jo insey pehle guzre hain. Allah ko to zaroor yeh dekhna hai ke sacchey kaun hain aur jhootey kaun
Surah Al-'Ankabut: 29 - Ayah: 11
Arabic
وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ‏ 
English
Allah will surely ascertain who are the believers and who are the hypocrites.
