Surah 73

073 surah

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الۡمُزَّمِّلُۙ‏ ١

O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one!

Aey oad lapet kar (enwrapped ) sone waley

قُمِ الَّيۡلَ اِلَّا قَلِيۡلًا ۙ‏ ٢

Stand up in Prayer by night, all but a small part of it;

Raat ko namaz mein khade raha karo magar kam

نِّصۡفَهٗۤ اَوِ انْقُصۡ مِنۡهُ قَلِيۡلًا ۙ‏ ٣

half of it, or reduce it a little;

Aadhi Raat

اَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَرَتِّلِ الۡقُرۡاٰنَ تَرۡتِيۡلًا ؕ‏ ٤

or add to it a little; and recite the Qur'an slowly and distinctly.

Ya issey kuch kam karlo ya issey kuch zyada badha do, aur Quran ko khoob tehar tehar kar padho

اِنَّا سَنُلۡقِىۡ عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلًا ثَقِيۡلًا‏ ٥

Behold, We shall cast upon you a Weighty Word.

Hum tumpar ek bhari kalam nazil karne waley hain

اِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ الَّيۡلِ هِىَ اَشَدُّ وَطۡـاً وَّاَقۡوَمُ قِيۡلًا ؕ‏ ٦

Surely getting up at night is the best means of subduing the self and is more suitable for uprightness in speech.

Dar haqeeqat raat ka uthna nafs par qaabu paney ke liye bahut kaargar aur Quran theek padhne ke liye zyada mauzu (suitable) hai

اِنَّ لَـكَ فِى النَّهَارِ سَبۡحًا طَوِيۡلًا ؕ‏ ٧

You are indeed much occupied during the day with the affairs of the world.

Din ke auqat mein to tumhare liye bahut masrufiyat (prolonged occupation) hai

وَاذۡكُرِ اسۡمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلۡ اِلَيۡهِ تَبۡتِيۡلًا ؕ‏ ٨

So remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with exclusive devotion.

Apne Rubb ke naam ka zikr kiya karo aur sabse katt kar usi ke ho raho

رَبُّ الۡمَشۡرِقِ وَالۡمَغۡرِبِ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذۡهُ وَكِيۡلًا‏ ٩

He is the Lord of the East and the West; there is no god but He. So take Him alone for your Guardian,

Woo mashrik (east) o magrib (west) ka maalik hai, uske siwa koi khuda nahin hai, lihaza usi ko apna wakeel bana lo

وَاصۡبِرۡ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَاهۡجُرۡهُمۡ هَجۡرًا جَمِيۡلًا‏ ١٠

And bear patiently the vain things they utter, and gracefully forsake them.

Aur jo baatein log bana rahey hain unpar sabr karo aur sharafat ke saath unse alag ho jao

وَذَرۡنِىۡ وَالۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ اُولِى النَّعۡمَةِ وَمَهِّلۡهُمۡ قَلِيۡلًا‏ ١١

Leave it to Me to deal with the affluent ones who give the lie (to the Truth), and bear with them for a while.

In jhutlane waley khush haal logon se nimatne ka kaam tum mujhpar chodh do aur inhein zara kuch dair isi halat par rehne do

اِنَّ لَدَيۡنَاۤ اَنۡـكَالًا وَّجَحِيۡمًا ۙ‏ ١٢

We have heavy fetters and a blazing Fire in store for them;

Hamarey paas (inke liye) bhaari bediyan hain aur bhadakti hui aag

وَّطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَّعَذَابًا اَلِيۡمًا‏ ١٣

and a food that chokes, and a grievous chastisement.

Aur halaq(throat) mein phasne wala khana aur dard-naak azaab

يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ الۡاَرۡضُ وَالۡجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الۡجِبَالُ كَثِيۡبًا مَّهِيۡلًا‏ ١٤

(They will come across all this) on the Day when the earth and the mountains shall tremble violently and the mountains shall crumble into heaps of scattered sand.

Yeh us din hoga jab zameen aur pahad laraz uthengey aur pahadon ka haal aisa ho jaeyga jaise reit (sand) ke dhair hai jo bhikhre ja rahe hain

اِنَّاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلَيۡكُمۡ رَسُوۡلًا ۙ شَاهِدًا عَلَيۡكُمۡ كَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰى فِرۡعَوۡنَ رَسُوۡلًا ؕ‏ ١٥

Surely We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We had sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.

Tum logon ke paas humne usi tarah ek rasool tum par gawah bana kar bheja hai jis tarah humne Firaun ki taraf ek rasool bheja tha

فَعَصٰى فِرۡعَوۡنُ الرَّسُوۡلَ فَاَخَذۡنٰهُ اَخۡذًا وَّبِيۡلًا‏ ١٦

But Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him with a terrible seizing.

(Phir dekhlo ke jab ) Firaun ne us Rasool ki baat na maani to humne usko badi sakhti kay saath pakad liya

فَكَيۡفَ تَتَّقُوۡنَ اِنۡ كَفَرۡتُمۡ يَوۡمًا يَّجۡعَلُ الۡوِلۡدَانَ شِيۡبَا ۖ‏ ١٧

If you persist in disbelieving, how will you guard yourself against the (woe of the) Day that will turn children grey-haired,

Agar tum maan-ne se inkar karoge to us din kaisey bach jaogey jo bacchon ko boodha kardega

اۨلسَّمَآءُ مُنۡفَطِرٌ ۢ بِهٖؕ كَانَ وَعۡدُهٗ مَفۡعُوۡلًا‏ ١٨

the Day whose severity shall cause the heaven to split asunder? Allah's promise is ever bound to be fulfilled.

Aur jiski sakhti se aasman phata ja raha hoga?Allah ka wada to poora hokar hi rehna hai

اِنَّ هٰذِهٖ تَذۡكِرَةٌ ۚ فَمَنۡ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ سَبِيۡلًا‏ ١٩

Indeed this is nothing but a Good Counsel; so let him who will take a way leading to his Lord.

Yeh ek nasihat hai , ab jiska jee chahey apne Rubb ki taraf janey ka rasta ikhtiyar karle

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعۡلَمُ اَنَّكَ تَقُوۡمُ اَدۡنىٰ مِنۡ ثُلُثَىِ الَّيۡلِ وَ نِصۡفَهٗ وَثُلُثَهٗ وَطَآٮِٕفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيۡنَ مَعَكَؕ وَاللّٰهُ يُقَدِّرُ الَّيۡلَ وَالنَّهَارَؕ عَلِمَ اَنۡ لَّنۡ تُحۡصُوۡهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ فَاقۡرَءُوۡا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الۡقُرۡاٰنِؕ عَلِمَ اَنۡ سَيَكُوۡنُ مِنۡكُمۡ مَّرۡضٰىۙ وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ يَضۡرِبُوۡنَ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ يَبۡتَغُوۡنَ مِنۡ فَضۡلِ اللّٰهِۙ وَاٰخَرُوۡنَ يُقَاتِلُوۡنَ فِىۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ ۖ فَاقۡرَءُوۡا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنۡهُ ۙ وَاَقِيۡمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَقۡرِضُوا اللّٰهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنًا ؕ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوۡا لِاَنۡفُسِكُمۡ مِّنۡ خَيۡرٍ تَجِدُوۡهُ عِنۡدَ اللّٰهِ هُوَ خَيۡرًا وَّاَعۡظَمَ اَجۡرًا ؕ وَاسۡتَغۡفِرُوا اللّٰهَ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِيۡمٌ‏ ٢٠

(O Prophet), your Lord knows that you sometimes stand up in Prayer nearly two-thirds of the night, and sometimes half or one-third of it, and so does a party of those with you; Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you cannot keep an accurate count of it, so He has shown mercy to you. So now recite as much of the Qur'an as you can. He knows that there are among you those who are sick and others who are journeying in the land in quest of Allah's bounty, and still others who are fighting in the cause of Allah. So recite as much of the Qur'an as you easily can, and establish Prayer, and pay Zakah, and give Allah a goodly loan. Whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah. That is better and its reward is greater. And ask for Allah's forgiveness; surely He is Most Forgiving, Most Compassionate.

Aey Nabi, tumhara Rubb janta hai ke tum kabhi do tihayi (two-third) raat ke qareeb aur kabhi aadhi raat aur kabhi ek tihayi (one-third) raat ibadat mein khade rehtey ho,Aur tumhare saathiyon mein se bhi ek giroh yeh amal karta hai, Allah hi raat aur din ke auqat ka hisab rakhta hai. Usey maloom hai ke tumlog auqat ka theek shumar nahin kar sakte, lihaza usne tumpar meharbani farmayi, Ab jitna Quran aasani se padh sakte ho padh liya karo. Usey maloom hai ke tum mein kuch mareez hongey, kuch dusre log Allah ke fazal(bounty) ki talash mein safar karte hain, Aur kuch aur log Allah ki raah mein jung karte hain, pas jitna Quran ba aasani padha ja sakey padh liya karo, namaz qayam karo, zakaat do aur Allah ko accha qarz dete raho, jo kuch bhalayi tum apne liye aagey bhejoge usey Allah ke yahan maujood paogey, wahi zyada behtar hai aur uska ajr bahut bada hai. Allah se magfirat maangte raho, beshak Allah bada Gafoor o Raheem hai
