Surah 84

084 surah

اِذَا السَّمَآءُ انْشَقَّتۡۙ‏ ١

When the sky is rent asunder

Jab aasman phatt jayega

وَاَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡۙ‏ ٢

and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should;

Aur apne Rubb kay famaan ki tameel karega aur uske liye haq yahi hai (ke apne Rubb ka hukum maney)

وَاِذَا الۡاَرۡضُ مُدَّتۡؕ‏ ٣

and when the earth is stretched out

Aur jab zameen phaila di jayegi

وَاَلۡقَتۡ مَا فِيۡهَا وَتَخَلَّتۡۙ‏ ٤

and casts out what is within it and is emptied,

Aur jo kuch uske andar hai usey bahar phenk kar khaali ho jayegi

وَاَذِنَتۡ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتۡؕ‏ ٥

and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should.

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الۡاِنۡسَانُ اِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ كَدۡحًا فَمُلٰقِيۡهِ​ۚ‏  ٦

O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him.

Aey insaan tu kashaan kashaan apne Rubb ki taraf chala ja raha hai(striving unto your Lord) aur ussey milney wala hai

فَاَمَّا مَنۡ اُوۡتِىَ كِتٰبَهٗ بِيَمِيۡنِهٖۙ‏ ٧

Whoever is given the Record in his right hand

Phir jiska naam-e-aamal uske seedhey haath mei diya gaya

فَسَوۡفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَّسِيۡرًا ۙ‏ ٨

shall be called to an easy accounting,

Ussey halka hisaab liya jayega

وَّيَنۡقَلِبُ اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهٖ مَسۡرُوۡرًا ؕ‏ ٩

and shall return to his people joyfully.

Aur woh apne logon ki taraf khush khush paltega

وَاَمَّا مَنۡ اُوۡتِىَ كِتٰبَهٗ وَرَآءَ ظَهۡرِهٖۙ‏ ١٠

But he who is given the Record behind his back,

Raha woh shaks jiska naam-e-aamal us ki peeth ke pichey diya jayega

فَسَوۡفَ يَدۡعُوۡا ثُبُوۡرًا ۙ‏ ١١

shall cry for “perdition,”

To woh maut ko pukarega

وَّيَصۡلٰى سَعِيۡرًا ؕ‏ ١٢

and will enter the Blazing Fire.

Aur bhadakti hui aag mei ja padega

اِنَّهٗ كَانَ فِىۡۤ اَهۡلِهٖ مَسۡرُوۡرًا ؕ‏ ١٣

He used to live joyfully among his people,

Woh apne ghar walon mein magan tha

اِنَّهٗ ظَنَّ اَنۡ لَّنۡ يَّحُوۡرَ ۛۚ‏ ١٤

thinking he would never revert (to Us).

Usne samjha tha ke usey kabhi palatna nahin hai

بَلٰٓى ۛۚ اِنَّ رَبَّهٗ كَانَ بِهٖ بَصِيۡرًا ؕ‏ ١٥

But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him.

Palatna kaise na tha, uska Rubb uske kartoot dekh raha tha

فَلَاۤ اُقۡسِمُ بِالشَّفَقِۙ‏ ١٦

Nay; I swear by the twilight;

Pas nahin mai kasam khata hon shafaq(twilight) ki

وَالَّيۡلِ وَمَا وَسَقَۙ‏ ١٧

and by the night and what it enfolds,

Aur raat ki aur jo kuch woh sameith leti hai

وَالۡقَمَرِ اِذَا اتَّسَقَۙ‏ ١٨

and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness:

Aur chaand ki jabke woh maah-e-kaamil (full) ho jata hai

لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ طَبَقًا عَنۡ طَبَقٍؕ‏ ١٩

you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage.

Tumko zaroor darja ba darja ek haalat se dusri halat ki taraf guzarte chalay jana hai

فَمَا لَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَۙ‏ ٢٠

So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe,

Phir in logon ko kya ho gaya hai ke yeh imaan nahin laatey

وَاِذَا قُرِئَ عَلَيۡهِمُ الۡقُرۡاٰنُ لَا يَسۡجُدُوۡنَ ؕ ۩‏ ٢١

and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves?

Aur jab Quran inke samney pada jata hai to sajda nahin karte

بَلِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا يُكَذِّبُوۡنَ ۖ‏ ٢٢

Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie.

Balke yeh munkireen to ulta jhutlatay hain

وَاللّٰهُ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَا يُوۡعُوۡنَ ۖ‏ ٢٣

Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record).

Halaanke jo kuch yeh (apne naam-e-aamal mein) jama kar rahey hain Allah usey khoob janta hai

فَبَشِّرۡهُمۡ بِعَذَابٍ اَلِيۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٤

So give them the good news of a painful chastisement,

Lihaza inko dardnaak azaab ki basharat dedo

اِلَّا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَهُمۡ اَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُوۡنٍ‏  ٢٥

except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward.

Albatta jo log imaan le aaye hain aur jinho ne neik aamal kiye hain unke liye kabhi khatam na honay wala ajar hai
