Alif Laam Meem

تَنۡزِيۡلُ الۡكِتٰبِ لَا رَيۡبَ فِيۡهِ مِنۡ رَّبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَؕ‏ ٢

This Book, beyond all doubt, was revealed by the Lord of the Universe.

Is kitaab ki tanzil (nuzul/revelation) bila shubha Rubb ul aalameen ki taraf se hai

اَمۡ يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ افۡتَرٰٮهُ​ۚ بَلۡ هُوَ الۡحَقُّ مِنۡ رَّبِّكَ لِتُنۡذِرَ قَوۡمًا مَّاۤ اَتٰٮهُمۡ مِّنۡ نَّذِيۡرٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَهۡتَدُوۡنَ‏  ٣

Or do they say: “He has fabricated it?” Nay, it is the Truth from your Lord so that you may warn a people to whom no warner came before you; perhaps they will be guided to the Right Way.

Kya yeh log kehte hain ke is shaks ne isey khud ghadh liya hai? Nahin, balke yeh haqq hai tere Rubb ki taraf se taa-ke tu mutanabbeh (warn) karey ek aisi qaum ko jiske paas tujhse pehle koi mutanabbeh (warn) karne nahin aaya. Shayad ke woh hidayat paa jayein

اَللّٰهُ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا فِىۡ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسۡتَوٰى عَلَى الۡعَرۡشِ​ؕ مَا لَكُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِهٖ مِنۡ وَّلِىٍّ وَّلَا شَفِيۡعٍ​ؕ اَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُوۡنَ‏ ٤

It is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two, in six days, and then He established Himself on the Throne. You have no guardian or intercessor other than He. Will you, then, not take heed?

Woh Allah hi hai jisne aasmaano aur zameen ko aur un saari cheezon ko jo inke darmiyan hain chey (six) dino mein paida kiya aur iske baad arsh par jalwa farma hua. Uske siwa na tumhara koi haami o madadgar hai aur na koi uske aagey sifarish karne wala. Phir kya tum hosh mein na aaogey

يُدَبِّرُ الۡاَمۡرَ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ اِلَى الۡاَرۡضِ ثُمَّ يَعۡرُجُ اِلَيۡهِ فِىۡ يَوۡمٍ كَانَ مِقۡدَارُهٗۤ اَلۡفَ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّوۡنَ‏ ٥

He governs from the heaven to the earth and then the record (of this governance) goes up to Him in a day whose measure is a thousand years in your reckoning.

Woh aasmaan se zameen tak duniya ke maamlaat ki tadbeer (planning) karta hai aur is tadbeer ki rudad (record) upar uske huzur jaati hai ek aisey din mein jiski miqdaar tumhare shumar se ek hazar saal hai

ذٰلِكَ عٰلِمُ الۡغَيۡبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الرَّحِيۡمُۙ‏ ٦

He knows all that is beyond as well as all that is within a creature's sense-perception. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate,

Wahi hai har posheeda (chupi hui) aur zaahir ka janne wala. Zabardast, aur raheem

الَّذِىۡۤ اَحۡسَنَ كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ خَلَقَهٗ​ وَبَدَاَ خَلۡقَ الۡاِنۡسَانِ مِنۡ طِيۡنٍ​ۚ‏ ٧

He Who excelled in the creation of all that He created. He originated the creation of man from clay,

Jo cheez bhi usney banayi khoob hi (acchi tarah) banayi. Usne Insaan ki takhleeq ki ibtida gaarey (mitti /clay) se ki

ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسۡلَهٗ مِنۡ سُلٰلَةٍ مِّنۡ مَّآءٍ مَّهِيۡنٍ​ۚ‏ ٨

then made his progeny from the extract of a mean fluid,

Phir uski nasal ek aisi saat se chalayi jo hakeer pani (fluid despised) ki tarah ka hai

ثُمَّ سَوّٰٮهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيۡهِ مِنۡ رُّوۡحِهٖ​ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ السَّمۡعَ وَالۡاَبۡصَارَ وَالۡاَفۡـــِٕدَةَ ​ ؕ قَلِيۡلًا مَّا تَشۡكُرُوۡنَ‏ ٩

then He duly proportioned him, and breathed into him of His spirit, and bestowed upon you ears and eyes and hearts. And yet, little thanks do you give.

Phir usko nik-suk se durust kiya aur uske andar apni rooh phoonk di. Aur tumko kaan diye, aankhein di aur dil diye. Tum log kam hi shukar guazar hotey ho

وَقَالُوۡٓا ءَاِذَا ضَلَلۡنَا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ ءَاِنَّا لَفِىۡ خَلۡقٍ جَدِيۡدٍ ؕ ​بَلۡ هُمۡ بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّهِمۡ كٰفِرُوۡنَ‏ ١٠

They say: “Shall we be created afresh after we have become lost in the earth?” Nay, the fact is that they deny that they will meet their Lord.

Aur yeh log kehte hain: “jab hum mitti mein ral-mil chuke honge to kya hum phir naye sirey se paida kiye jayenge?” Asal baat yeh hai ke yeh apne Rubb ki mulaqaat ke munkir hain

قُلۡ يَتَوَفّٰٮكُمۡ مَّلَكُ الۡمَوۡتِ الَّذِىۡ وُكِّلَ بِكُمۡ ثُمَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكُمۡ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ‏ ١١

Tell them: “The angel of death who has been charged with your souls shall gather you, and then you shall be brought back to your Lord.”

Insey kaho “Maut ka woh farishta jo tumpar muqarrar kiya gaya hai tumko poora ka poora apne qabze mein le lega aur phir tum apne Rubb ki taraf palta laye jaoge”

وَلَوۡ تَرٰٓى اِذِ الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَ نَاكِسُوۡا رُءُوۡسِهِمۡ عِنۡدَ رَبِّهِمۡ رَبَّنَاۤ اَبۡصَرۡنَا وَسَمِعۡنَا فَارۡجِعۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَالِحًـا اِنَّا مُوۡقِنُوۡنَ‏  ١٢

Would that you could see the guilty standing before their Lord with their heads downcast, (saying to Him): “Our Lord, we have now seen and heard, so send us back (to the world) that we might act righteously. For now we have come to have firm faith.”

Kaash tum dekho woh waqt jab yeh mujrim sar jhukaye apne Rubb ke huzur khade hongey. (Us waqt yeh keh rahe hongey) “ Aey hamare Rubb, humne khoob dekh liya aur sun liya , ab humein wapas bhej de taa-ke hum neik amal karein. Humein ab yaqeen aa gaya hai.”

وَ لَوۡ شِئۡنَا لَاٰتَيۡنَا كُلَّ نَفۡسٍ هُدٰٮهَا وَلٰـكِنۡ حَقَّ الۡقَوۡلُ مِنِّىۡ لَاَمۡلَئَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الۡجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ اَجۡمَعِيۡنَ‏ ١٣

(They will be told): “If We had so willed, We could have bestowed guidance on every person. But the Word from Me that I will fill Hell with men and jinn, all together, has been fulfilled.

(Jawab mein irshad hoga) “Agar hum chahte to pehle hi har nafs ko iski hidayat de detay, magar meri woh baat poori ho gayi jo maine kahi thi ke main jahannum ko Jinno aur Insano sab se bhar dunga

فَذُوۡقُوۡا بِمَا نَسِيۡتُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هٰذَا​ ۚ اِنَّا نَسِيۡنٰكُمۡ​ وَذُوۡقُوۡا عَذَابَ الۡخُلۡدِ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ‏ ١٤

So taste the chastisement on account of your forgetting the encounter of this Day. We, too, have forgotten you. Taste the eternal chastisement as a requital for your misdeeds.”

Pas ab chakkho maza apni is harakat ka ke tumne is din ki mulaqat ko faramosh kardiya. Humne bhi ab tumhein faramosh kardiya hai. Chakkho hameshgi ke azaab ka maza apne kartooton ki padash mein”

اِنَّمَا يُؤۡمِنُ بِاٰيٰتِنَا الَّذِيۡنَ اِذَا ذُكِّرُوۡا بِهَا خَرُّوۡا سُجَّدًا وَّسَبَّحُوۡا بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُوۡنَ۩‏ ١٥

None believes in Our Signs except those who, when they are given good counsel through Our verses, fall down prostrate and celebrate the praise of their Lord and do not wax proud.

Hamari aayat par to woh log iman laatey hain jinhein yeh aayat suna kar jab naseehat ki jaati hai to sajde mein gir padte hain aur apne Rubb ki hamd ke saath uski tasbeeh karte hain aur takabbur nahin karte

تَتَجَافٰى جُنُوۡبُهُمۡ عَنِ الۡمَضَاجِعِ يَدۡعُوۡنَ رَبَّهُمۡ خَوۡفًا وَّطَمَعًا وَّمِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰهُمۡ يُنۡفِقُوۡنَ‏ ١٦

Their sides forsake their beds, and they call upon their Lord in fear and hope, and expend (in charity) out of the sustenance We have granted them.

Unki peethein (backs) bistaron se alag rehti hain, apne Rubb ko khauf aur tamaa (umeed) ke saath pukarte hain. Aur jo kuch rizq humne unhein diya hai usmein se kharch karte hain

فَلَا تَعۡلَمُ نَفۡسٌ مَّاۤ اُخۡفِىَ لَهُمۡ مِّنۡ قُرَّةِ اَعۡيُنٍ​ۚ جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ‏ ١٧

No one knows what delights of the eyes are kept hidden for them as a reward for their deeds.

Phir jaisa kuch aankhon ki thandak ka saamaan unke aamaal ki jaza mein unke liye chupa kar rakkha gaya hai uski kisi mutanaffis (person/soul) ko khabar nahin hai

اَفَمَنۡ كَانَ مُؤۡمِنًا كَمَنۡ كَانَ فَاسِقًا​ ؕ لَا يَسۡتَوٗنَ‏ ١٨

Would a true believer be like him who was an evil-doer? Surely they are not equal.

Bhala kahin yeh ho sakta hai ke jo shaks momin ho woh us shaks ki tarah ho jaye jo faasiq (nafarman/evil doer) ho? Yeh dono barabar nahin ho saktey

اَمَّا الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ فَلَهُمۡ جَنّٰتُ الۡمَاۡوٰى نُزُلًاۢ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ‏ ١٩

As for those who believe and act righteously, theirs shall be Gardens to dwell in, a hospitality to reward them for their deeds.

Jo log iman laye hain aur jinhon ne neik amal kiye hain unke liye to jannaton ki qayam-gahein (hospitable homes) hain. Ziyafat ke taur par unke aamal ke badle mein

وَاَمَّا الَّذِيۡنَ فَسَقُوۡا فَمَاۡوٰٮهُمُ النَّارُ​ؕ كُلَّمَاۤ اَرَادُوۡۤا اَنۡ يَّخۡرُجُوۡا مِنۡهَاۤ اُعِيۡدُوۡا فِيۡهَا وَ قِيۡلَ لَهُمۡ ذُوۡقُوۡا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الَّذِىۡ كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَ‏ ٢٠

As for the evil-doers, their refuge shall be the Fire. Every time they want to escape from it they shall be driven back and shall be told: “Taste the chastisement of the Fire which you used to reject as a lie.”

Aur jinhon ne fisq (na-farmani) ikhtiyar kiya hai unka thikana dozakh hai.Jab kabhi woh ussey nikalna chahenge usi mein dhakail diye jayenge aur unsey kaha jayega ke chakkho ab usi aag ke azaab ka maza jisko tum jhutlaya karte thay

وَلَنـــُذِيۡقَنَّهُمۡ مِّنَ الۡعَذَابِ الۡاَدۡنٰى دُوۡنَ الۡعَذَابِ الۡاَكۡبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُوۡنَ‏ ٢١

We shall certainly have them taste some chastisement in this world in addition to the greater chastisement (of the Hereafter); perhaps they will retract (from their transgression).

Us baday azaab se pehle hum isi duniya mein (kisi na kisi chote) azaab ka maza inhein chakhate rahenge. Shayad ke yeh (apne baagiyana [transgression] rawish se) baaz aa jayein

وَمَنۡ اَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنۡ ذُكِّرَ بِاٰيٰتِ رَبِّهٖ ثُمَّ اَعۡرَضَ عَنۡهَا​ؕ اِنَّا مِنَ الۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ مُنۡتَقِمُوۡنَ‏ ٢٢

And who is more unjust than he who is given good counsel through the Signs of his Lord and yet he turns away from them? Surely We will exact full retribution from such criminals.

Aur ussey bada zaalim kaun hoga jisey uske Rubb ki aayat ke zariye se naseehat ki jaye aur phir woh inse mooh pher ley.Aisey mujreemo se to hum inteqam lekar rahenge

وَلَقَدۡ اٰتَيۡنَا مُوۡسَى الۡكِتٰبَ فَلَا تَكُنۡ فِىۡ مِرۡيَةٍ مِّنۡ لِّقَآٮِٕهٖ​ وَجَعَلۡنٰهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَۚ‏ ٢٣

Verily We bestowed the Book upon Moses. So entertain no doubt if (the Prophet Muhammad) received the same. We had made that Book a guidance for the Children of Israel,

Issey pehle hum Moosa ko kitaab de chuke hain. Lihaza usi cheez ke milne par tumhein koi shakk na hona chahiye. Us kitab ko humne bani Israel ke liye hidayat banaya tha

وَ جَعَلۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡ اَٮِٕمَّةً يَّهۡدُوۡنَ بِاَمۡرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوۡا​ ؕ وَ كَانُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَا يُوۡقِنُوۡنَ‏ ٢٤

and when they remained steadfast and firmly believed in Our Signs, We created among them leaders who guided people by Our command.

Aur jab unhon ne sabr kiya aur hamari aayaat par yaqeen latey rahey to unke andar humne aise peshwa paida kiye jo hamare hukum se rehnumayi (hidayat/guidance) karte thay

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفۡصِلُ بَيۡنَهُمۡ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ فِيۡمَا كَانُوۡا فِيۡهِ يَخۡتَلِفُوۡنَ‏ ٢٥

Surely your Lord will judge among them on the Day of Resurrection concerning the matters about which the Children of Israel used to differ.

Yaqeenan tera Rubb hi qayamat ke roz un baaton ka faisla karega jinmein (bani Israel) baaham(aapas mein) ikhtilaf karte rahey hain

اَوَلَمۡ يَهۡدِ لَهُمۡ كَمۡ اَهۡلَكۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ مِّنَ الۡقُرُوۡنِ يَمۡشُوۡنَ فِىۡ مَسٰكِنِهِمۡ​ ؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ ؕ اَفَلَا يَسۡمَعُوۡنَ‏  ٢٦

Did (these historical events) not make them realise that We destroyed many nations before them amidst whose dwellings they now move about? Surely there are many Signs in this. Are they unable to hear?

Aur kya in logon ko (in tareekhi (historical) waqiyat mein) koi hidayat nahin mili ke unse pehle kitni qaumon ko hum halaak kar chuke hain jinke rehne ki jaghon mein aaj yeh chalte phirte hain? Ismein badi nishaniyan hain. Kya yeh sunte nahin hain

اَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡا اَنَّا نَسُوۡقُ الۡمَآءَ اِلَى الۡاَرۡضِ الۡجُرُزِ فَنُخۡرِجُ بِهٖ زَرۡعًا تَاۡكُلُ مِنۡهُ اَنۡعَامُهُمۡ وَاَنۡفُسُهُمۡ​ؕ اَفَلَا يُبۡصِرُوۡنَ‏  ٢٧

Have they not seen that We drive water to the parched land, thereby bringing forth crops which they and their cattle eat? Are they unable to see?

Aur kya in logon ne yeh manzar kabhi nahin dekha ke hum ek bay-aab o gayah (banjar) zameen ki taraf pani baha latey hain, aur phir usi zameen se woh fasal ugati hai jissey unke jaanwaron ko bhi chara milta hai aur yeh khud bhi khate hain? To kya inhein kuch nahin soojhta

وَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الۡفَتۡحُ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ‏ ٢٨

They say: “If you are truthful, (tell us) when will the Judgement come?”

Yeh log kehte hain ke “yeh faisla kab hoga agar tum sachhey ho?”

قُلۡ يَوۡمَ الۡفَتۡحِ لَا يَنۡفَعُ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡۤا اِيۡمَانُهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنۡظَرُوۡنَ‏ ٢٩

Tell them: “If the unbelievers were to believe on the Day of Judgement that will not avail them. For then they will be granted no respite.”

Insey kaho “faisle ke din iman laana un logon ke liye kuch bhi nafeh (faidemand) na hoga jinhon ne kufr kiya hai aur phir unko koi mohlat na milegi.”

فَاَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡهُمۡ وَانْتَظِرۡ اِنَّهُمۡ مُّنۡتَظِرُوۡنَ‏ ٣٠

So (leave them to themselves and) turn away from them and wait; they too are waiting.

Accha, inhein inke haal par chodh do aur intezar karo, yeh bhi muntazir (intezar kar rahe) hain
