Surah 77

077 surah

وَالۡمُرۡسَلٰتِ عُرۡفًا ۙ‏ ١

By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession,

Kasam hai un ( hawaon) ki jo pai dar pai bheji jati hain

فَالۡعٰصِفٰتِ عَصۡفًا ۙ‏ ٢

which then blow tempestuously

Phir toofani raftar se chalti hai

وَّالنّٰشِرٰتِ نَشۡرًا ۙ‏ ٣

and raise (clouds) and scatter them around,

Aur (baadalon ko) utha kar phailati hai

فَالۡفٰرِقٰتِ فَرۡقًا ۙ‏ ٤

then winnow them thoroughly,

Phir (unko) phaad kar juda karti hai

فَالۡمُلۡقِيٰتِ ذِكۡرًا ۙ‏ ٥

and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts),

Phir (dilon mei khuda ki)yaad daalti hai

عُذۡرًا اَوۡ نُذۡرًا ۙ‏ ٦

to serve as an excuse or a warning.

Uzar (justification) ke taur par ya daravey ke taur par

اِنَّمَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لَوَاقِعٌ ؕ‏ ٧

Surely what you are promised shall come to pass.

Jis cheez ka tumse wada kiya ja raha hai woh zaroor waqey honay wali hai

فَاِذَا النُّجُوۡمُ طُمِسَتۡۙ‏ ٨

So when the stars are extinguished,

Phir jab sitarey maand (extinguish) pad jayengey

وَ اِذَا السَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡۙ‏ ٩

and the sky is rent asunder,

Aur aasmaan phaad diya jayega

وَاِذَا الۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡۙ‏ ١٠

and the mountains are blown away,

Aur pahad dhunak daaley jayengey (blown away)

وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتۡؕ‏ ١١

and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives,(then shall the promised event come to pass).

Aur Rasoolon ki haziri ka waqt aa pahunchega (us roz woh cheez waqey ho jaeygi)

لِاَىِّ يَوۡمٍ اُجِّلَتۡؕ‏ ١٢

To which Day has this task been deferred?

Kis roz ke liye yeh kaam utha rakha gaya hai

لِيَوۡمِ الۡفَصۡلِ​ۚ‏ ١٣

To the Day of Judgement.

Faisley ke roz ke liye

وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا يَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِؕ‏ ١٤

What do you know what the Day of Judgement is?

Aur tumhein kya khabar ke woh faisley ka din kya hai

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ١٥

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us din jhutlane walon ke liye

اَلَمۡ نُهۡلِكِ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَؕ‏ ١٦

Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times?

Kya humne aglon ko halaq nahin kiya

ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُهُمُ الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَ‏ ١٧

And We shall cause those of later times to follow them.

Phir unhi ke pichey hum baad walon ko chalta karengey

كَذٰلِكَ نَفۡعَلُ بِالۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ‏ ١٨

Thus do We deal with the guilty.

Mujrimo ke saath hum yahi kuch kiya karte hain

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ١٩

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us din jhutlaney walon ke liye

اَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقۡكُّمۡ مِّنۡ مَّآءٍ مَّهِيۡنٍۙ‏ ٢٠

Did We not create you of a mean fluid,

Kya humne ek hakeer pani se tumhein paida nahin kiya

فَجَعَلۡنٰهُ فِىۡ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيۡنٍۙ‏ ٢١

which We then placed in a secure repository

Aur ek mukarrara muddat tak

اِلٰى قَدَرٍ مَّعۡلُوۡمٍۙ‏ ٢٢

until an appointed time?

Usey ek mehfooz jagah thehraye rakkha

فَقَدَرۡنَا ۖ فَنِعۡمَ الۡقٰدِرُوۡنَ‏ ٢٣

See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will.

To dekho , hum ispar qadir thay, pas hum bahut acchi qudrat rakhne waley hain

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٢٤

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us roz jhutlaney walon ke liye

اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ الۡاَرۡضَ كِفَاتًا ۙ‏ ٢٥

Did We not make the earth a receptacle,

Kya humne zameen ko sameth kar rakhne wali nahin banaya

اَحۡيَآءً وَّاَمۡوَاتًا ۙ‏ ٢٦

for the living and the dead,

Zindon ke liye bhi aur murdon ke liye bhi

وَّجَعَلۡنَا فِيۡهَا رَوَاسِىَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَّ اَسۡقَيۡنٰكُمۡ مَّآءً فُرَاتًا ؕ‏ ٢٧

and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink?

Aur is mein buland-o-bala pahad jamaye, Aur tumhein meetha pani pilaya

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٢٨

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us roz jhutlaney walon ke liye

اِنْطَلِقُوۡۤا اِلٰى مَا كُنۡتُمۡ بِهٖ تُكَذِّبُوۡنَ​ۚ‏ ٢٩

Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false;

Chalo ab usi cheez ki taraf jisey tum jhutlaya karte thay

اِنْطَلِقُوۡۤا اِلٰى ظِلٍّ ذِىۡ ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍۙ‏ ٣٠

proceed towards the three-pronged shadow,

Chalo us saaye ki taraf jo teen shaakhon(columns) wala hai

لَّا ظَلِيۡلٍ وَّلَا يُغۡنِىۡ مِنَ اللَّهَبِؕ‏ ٣١

which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames;

Na thandak pahunchane wala aur na aag ki lapat se bachane wala

اِنَّهَا تَرۡمِىۡ بِشَرَرٍ كَالۡقَصۡرِ​ۚ‏ ٣٢

it indeed throws up sparks like castles,

woh aag mahal (castles/fortress) jaisi badi badi chingariyan phenkegi

كَاَنَّهٗ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفۡرٌ ؕ‏ ٣٣

which seem as though they are yellow-coloured camels.

(Jo uchalti hui yun mehsus hongi )goya ke woh zard ount (camel) hai

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٣٤

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us roz jhutlaney walon ke liye

هٰذَا يَوۡمُ لَا يَنۡطِقُوۡنَۙ‏ ٣٥

That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word,

Yeh woh din hai jismein wo na kuch bolengey

وَلَا يُؤۡذَنُ لَهُمۡ فَيَـعۡتَذِرُوۡنَ‏ ٣٦

nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses.

Aur na unhein mauka diya jaeyga ke koi uzr(excuse) pesh karein

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٣٧

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us din jhutlaney walon ke liye

هٰذَا يَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِ​ۚ جَمَعۡنٰكُمۡ وَالۡاَوَّلِيۡنَ‏ ٣٨

That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you.

Yeh faisley ka din hai humne tumhein aur tumse pehle guzrey huey logon ko jamaa kardiya hai

فَاِنۡ كَانَ لَـكُمۡ كَيۡدٌ فَكِيۡدُوۡنِ‏ ٣٩

So if you have any ploy, try it against Me!

Ab agar koi chaal tum chal sakte ho to mere muqabley mein chal dekho

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٤٠

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us din jhutlaney walon ke liye

اِنَّ الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ فِىۡ ظِلٰلٍ وَّعُيُوۡنٍۙ‏ ٤١

Behold, today the God-fearing will be amidst shades and springs,

Muttaqi log aaj saayon aur chashmon mein hai

وَّفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشۡتَهُوۡنَؕ‏ ٤٢

and the fruits that they desire (will be ready at hand).

Aur jo phal woh chahein (unke liye hazir hai)

كُلُوۡا وَاشۡرَبُوۡا هَنِيْٓئًا ۢ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ‏ ٤٣

Eat and drink and may every joy attend you as a reward for your deeds.

Khao aur piyo mazey se apne un aamal ke siley mein jo tum karte rahey ho

اِنَّا كَذٰلِكَ نَجۡزِى الۡمُحۡسِنِيۡنَ‏ ٤٤

Thus do We reward those that do good.

Hum neik logon ko aisi hi jaza detay hain

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٤٥

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

Tabahi hai us roz jhutlaney walon ke liye

كُلُوۡا وَتَمَتَّعُوۡا قَلِيۡلًا اِنَّكُمۡ مُّجۡرِمُوۡنَ‏ ٤٦

Eat and enjoy yourselves for a while. Surely you are evil-doers.

Kha lo aur mazey karlo thodey din, haqeeqat mein tum log mujrim ho

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٤٧

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

وَاِذَا قِيۡلَ لَهُمُ ارۡكَعُوۡا لَا يَرۡكَعُوۡنَ‏ ٤٨

When it is said to them: “Bow down (before Allah),” they do not bow down.

Jab inse kaha jata hai ke (Allah ke aagey) jhuko to nahin jhuktey

وَيۡلٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِيۡنَ‏ ٤٩

Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth!

فَبِاَىِّ حَدِيۡثٍۢ بَعۡدَهٗ يُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ‏ ٥٠

In what discourse after this (Qur'an) will they, then, believe?

Ab is (Quran) ke baad aur kaunsa kalaam aisa ho sakta hai jispar yeh iman layein
