Surah 76

076 surah

هَلۡ اَتٰى عَلَى الۡاِنۡسَانِ حِيۡنٌ مِّنَ الدَّهۡرِ لَمۡ يَكُنۡ شَيۡـًٔـا مَّذۡكُوۡرًا‏ ١

Was there a period of time when man was not even worthy of a mention?

Kya Insan par la mutanahi zamane ka ek waqt aisa bhi guzra hai jab woh koi qabil e zikr cheez na tha

اِنَّا خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ نُّطۡفَةٍ اَمۡشَاجٍۖ نَّبۡتَلِيۡهِ فَجَعَلۡنٰهُ سَمِيۡعًۢا بَصِيۡرًا‏ ٢

Verily We created man out of a drop of intermingled sperm so that We might try him, and We therefore endowed him with hearing and sight.

Humne Insan ko ek makhlut nutfey (intermingled sperm) se paida kiya taa-ke uska imtihaan lein aur is garz ke liye humne usey sunne aur dekhne wala banaya

اِنَّا هَدَيۡنٰهُ السَّبِيۡلَ اِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَّاِمَّا كَفُوۡرًا‏ ٣

Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord).

Humne usey rasta dikha diya, khwa shukar karne wala baney ya kufr karne wala

اِنَّاۤ اَعۡتَدۡنَا لِلۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ سَلٰسِلَا۟ وَاَغۡلٰلًا وَّسَعِيۡرًا‏ ٤

For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire.

Kufr karne walon ke liye humne zanjeerein aur tauq (fetters) aur bhadakti hui aag muhaiyya kar rakkhi hai

اِنَّ الۡاَبۡرَارَ يَشۡرَبُوۡنَ مِنۡ كَاۡسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُوۡرًا​ۚ‏  ٥

The virtuous shall drink from a cup tempered with camphor water.

Neik log (jannat mein) sharaab ke aisey sagar piyenge jinmein aabey kafoor ki aamezish (mixture) hogi

عَيۡنًا يَّشۡرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللّٰهِ يُفَجِّرُوۡنَهَا تَفۡجِيۡرًا‏ ٦

This will be a gushing spring wherefrom Allah's servants shall drink wine, a spring from which they will take out channels wherever they wish.

Yeh ek behta chasma(spring) hoga jiske pani ke saath Allah ke bandey sharaab piyengey aur jahan chahengey ba-sahulat uski shakhein (nikal) lengey

يُوۡفُوۡنَ بِالنَّذۡرِ وَيَخَافُوۡنَ يَوۡمًا كَانَ شَرُّهٗ مُسۡتَطِيۡرًا‏  ٧

These will be the ones who fulfil their vows and dread the Day whose woe shall be spread far and wide;

Yeh woh log hongey jo (duniya mein) nazar poori karte hain, aur us din se darte hain jiski aafat har taraf phaili hui hogi

وَيُطۡعِمُوۡنَ الطَّعَامَ عَلٰى حُبِّهٖ مِسۡكِيۡنًا وَّيَتِيۡمًا وَّاَسِيۡرًا‏  ٨

those who, for the love of Him, feed the needy, and the orphan, and the captive,

Aur Allah ki muhabbat mein miskeen aur yateem aur qaidi ko khana khilate hain

اِنَّمَا نُطۡعِمُكُمۡ لِـوَجۡهِ اللّٰهِ لَا نُرِيۡدُ مِنۡكُمۡ جَزَآءً وَّلَا شُكُوۡرًا‏ ٩

(saying): “We feed you only for Allah's sake; we do not seek of you any recompense or thanks,

Aur unse kehte hain ke (hum tumhein sirf) Allah ki khatir khila rahey hain, hum tumse na koi badla chahte hain na shukriya

اِنَّا نَخَافُ مِنۡ رَّبِّنَا يَوۡمًا عَبُوۡسًا قَمۡطَرِيۡرًا‏ ١٠

we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.”

Humey to apne Rubb se us din ke azaab ka khauf lahiq hai jo sakht museebat ka intehayi taweel din hoga

فَوَقٰٮهُمُ اللّٰهُ شَرَّ ذٰلِكَ الۡيَوۡمِ وَ لَقّٰٮهُمۡ نَضۡرَةً وَّسُرُوۡرًا​ۚ‏  ١١

So Allah shall guard them against the woe of that Day, and will procure them freshness and joy,

Pas Allah taala unhein us din ke sharr se bacha lega aur unhein taazgi aur suroor bakshega

وَجَزٰٮهُمۡ بِمَا صَبَرُوۡا جَنَّةً وَّحَرِيۡرًا ۙ‏ ١٢

and will reward them for their steadfastness with Paradise and robes of silk.

Aur unke sabr ke badle mein unhein jannat aur reshmi libas ata karega

مُّتَّكِـِٕـيۡنَ فِيۡهَا عَلَى الۡاَرَآٮِٕكِ​ۚ لَا يَرَوۡنَ فِيۡهَا شَمۡسًا وَّلَا زَمۡهَرِيۡرًا​ۚ‏ ١٣

There they will recline on elevated couches and will be subjected neither to the burning heat of the sun nor to bitter cold.

Wahan woh unchey masnadon par takiye lagaye baithey hongey, na unhein dhoop ki garmi satayegi na jaadey ki thirr (bitter cold)

وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيۡهِمۡ ظِلٰلُهَا وَذُلِّلَتۡ قُطُوۡفُهَا تَذۡلِيۡلًا‏ ١٤

The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach;

Jannat ki chaaon unpar jhuki hui saaya kar rahi hogi,aur uske phal har waqt unke bas mein hongey(ke jis tarah chahey unhein todh lein)

وَيُطَافُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِاٰنِيَةٍ مِّنۡ فِضَّةٍ وَّاَكۡوَابٍ كَانَتۡ قَوَارِيۡرَا۟ ۙ‏  ١٥

and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal,

Unke aagey chandi ke bartan aur sheshey ke pyale gardish karaye ja rahey hongey

قَوَارِيۡرَا۟ مِنۡ فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوۡهَا تَقۡدِيۡرًا‏ ١٦

goblets bright as crystal but made of silver, filled to exact measure.

Sheshey bhi woh jo chandi ki qisam ke hongey,aur unko (muntazmin-e-jannat nay)theek andazey ke mutabik bhara hoga

​ ​ وَيُسۡقَوۡنَ فِيۡهَا كَاۡسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنۡجَبِيۡلًا ۚ‏ ١٧

Therein they shall be served a cup flavoured with ginger,

Unko wahan aisi sharaab ke jaam pilaye jayenge jis mein soont (ginger) ki aamezish hogi

عَيۡنًا فِيۡهَا تُسَمّٰى سَلۡسَبِيۡلًا‏ ١٨

drawn from a spring (in Paradise) called Salsabil.

Yeh jannat ka ek chasma hoga jisey salsabil kaha jata hai

وَيَطُوۡفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُوۡنَ​ۚ اِذَا رَاَيۡتَهُمۡ حَسِبۡتَهُمۡ لُـؤۡلُـؤًا مَّنۡثُوۡرًا‏ ١٩

There boys of everlasting youth shall go about attending them: when you see them, you would think that they are scattered pearls.

Unki khidmat ke liye aisey ladke daudte phir rahey hongey jo hamesha ladke hi rahenge.Tum unhein dekho to samjho ke moti(pearls) hai jo bikhair diye gaye hain

وَاِذَا رَاَيۡتَ ثَمَّ رَاَيۡتَ نَعِيۡمًا وَّمُلۡكًا كَبِيۡرًا‏ ٢٠

Whitherto you look around, you will see an abundance of bliss and the glories of a great kingdom.

Wahan jidhar bhi tum nigah dalogey niyamatein hi niyamatein aur ek badi sultanat ka sar o saman tumhein nazar aayega

عٰلِيَهُمۡ ثِيَابُ سُنۡدُسٍ خُضۡرٌ وَّاِسۡتَبۡرَقٌ​ وَّحُلُّوۡۤا اَسَاوِرَ مِنۡ فِضَّةٍ ​ۚوَسَقٰٮهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ شَرَابًا طَهُوۡرًا‏ ٢١

They [i.e., the virtuous] shall be attired in garments of fine green silk and rich brocade and will be adorned with bracelets of silver. Their Lord will give them a pure wine to drink.

Unke upar bareek resham ke sabz libas aur atlas o deba ke kapde (rich brocade)hongey, unko chandi ke kangan pehnaye jayenge , aur unka Rubb unko nihayat pakeeza sharaab pilaeyga

اِنَّ هٰذَا كَانَ لَـكُمۡ جَزَآءً وَّكَانَ سَعۡيُكُمۡ مَّشۡكُوۡرًا‏ ٢٢

Behold, this is your recompense and your endeavour has been appreciated.

Yeh hai tumhari jaza aur tumhari kaar-guzari qabil-e-qadr thehri hai

اِنَّا نَحۡنُ نَزَّلۡنَا عَلَيۡكَ الۡقُرۡاٰنَ تَنۡزِيۡلًا ۚ‏ ٢٣

(O Prophet), indeed We have revealed the Qur'an to you in portions.

Aey Nabi, humne hi tumpar yeh Quran thoda thoda karke nazil kiya hai

فَاصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعۡ مِنۡهُمۡ اٰثِمًا اَوۡ كَفُوۡرًا​ۚ‏  ٢٤

So persevere with the command of your Lord and do not pay any heed to the wicked and the unbelieving,

Lihaza tum apne Rubb ke hukum par sabr karo, aur in mein se kisi badh-amal ya munkir-e-haq ki baat na maano

وَاذۡكُرِ اسۡمَ رَبِّكَ بُكۡرَةً وَّاَصِيۡلًا ۚ  ۖ‏ ٢٥

and remember the name of your Lord, morning and evening;

Apne Rubb ka naam subh-o-shaam yaad karo

وَمِنَ الَّيۡلِ فَاسۡجُدۡ لَهٗ وَسَبِّحۡهُ لَيۡلًا طَوِيۡلًا‏ ٢٦

and prostrate yourself before Him at night, and extol His Glory during the long watches of the night.

Raat ko bhi uske huzoor sajda raiz ho, Aur raat ke taveel auqat mein uski tasbeeh karte raho

اِنَّ هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ يُحِبُّوۡنَ الۡعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُوۡنَ وَرَآءَهُمۡ يَوۡمًا ثَقِيۡلًا‏ ٢٧

Verily they love (the good of this world) that is hastily obtainable and are oblivious of the burdensome Day ahead of them.

Yeh log to jaldi hasil honay wali cheez (duniya ) se muhabbat rakhte hai aur aagey jo bhaari din aane wala hai usey nazar andaz kardetey hain

نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنٰهُمۡ وَشَدَدۡنَاۤ اَسۡرَهُمۡ​ۚ وَاِذَا شِئۡنَا بَدَّلۡنَاۤ اَمۡثَالَهُمۡ تَبۡدِيۡلًا‏ ٢٨

We created them and strengthened their joints; and whenever We wish, We can change their faces entirely.

Humne hi inko paida kiya hai aur inke jodh bandh mazboot kiye hai, aur hum jab chahein inki shakalon ko badal kar rakh dein

اِنَّ هٰذِهٖ تَذۡكِرَةٌ ​ۚ فَمَنۡ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ سَبِيۡلًا‏  ٢٩

Verily this is an Exhortation; so let him who so will take a way to his Lord.

Yeh ek nasihat hai,ab jiska jee chahey apne Rubb ki taraf jaane ka rasta ikhtiyar karle

وَمَا تَشَآءُوۡنَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ يَّشَآءَ اللّٰهُ ​ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ كَانَ عَلِيۡمًا حَكِيۡمًا  ۖ‏ ٣٠

But your willing shall be of no avail until Allah Himself so wills. Surely Allah is All-Knowing, Most Wise.

Aur tumharey chahne se kuch nahin hota jab tak ke Allah na chachey, yaqeenan Allah bada Aleem-o-Haqeem hai

يُّدۡخِلُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ فِىۡ رَحۡمَتِهٖ​ؕ وَالظّٰلِمِيۡنَ اَعَدَّ لَهُمۡ عَذَابًا اَلِيۡمًا‏ ٣١

He admits to His Mercy whomsoever He pleases. As for the wrong-doers, He has prepared for them a grievous chastisement.

Apni rehmat mein jisko chahta hai daakhil karta hai, Aur zalimon ke liye usne dardnaak azaab tayyar kar rakkha hai
