Islam corrected the doctrine of original sin that misled people into believing that the first sin was Adam's eating from the forbidden tree. Instead, the Qur'an establishes that the 1st sin was committed by Satan when he refused to prostrate to Adam as commanded by Allah, due to RACISM. We read Allah's words: "He said, “What prevented you from prostrating yourself when I commanded you?” He said, “I am better than him; You created me from fire and created him from clay.” (Qur'an 7:12). This is akin to saying "I am white and he is black," or "I am European and he is Arab," or "I am Arab and he is Indian." Thus, Allah replied: "He said, “So get down from it, for it is not for you to behave arrogantly in it. So get out! You are indeed one of the belittled!” (Qur'an 7:13). Satan's arrogance due to racial difference was the reason for the first sin in history, and for his expulsion from Paradise, thus establishing the Muslim creed that Racism was the first sin (the original sin), and that there is no place in Paradise for racists. This understanding can guide humanity toward resolving many of the social and moral issues we face today.
